Lakmeer spent his morning on the roof, Ares went up there his way but Lakmeer couldn’t do it so he went through the window. He enjoyed the warm morning sun with Ares until he was called by some other child called Sam. He was young boy, of about eight or nine but Lakmeer could wager his life that he was way thinner than a four to five-year-old. Lakmeer and Ares went back to the room with the fire and saw Odin and Loki sitting near the fire, Helen was there as well. Lakmeer went near the fire where Odin asked him to sit. He sat beside Odin and then Odin said,” Are you sure that you want come to help me get Lykos out of the dungeons?” Lakmeer knew this question would be asked. He answered earnestly,” Of course, if it wasn’t for Lykos I would have died twice or maybe thrice. I will come.” Odin nodded. He then said,” I will now show you the dungeons and my plan. Go and get ready.” Odin got up and went downstairs, Lakmeer went to seek his sword but it wasn’t where he had put it.
He looked around but didn’t find it, but Helen got up and said,” Sorry I forgot, I took it downstairs to oil it. It’s a beautiful sword you wouldn’t want it rusted.” She smiled at Lakmeer and went downstairs, she came back with honor in her hands, wrapped in a cloth. She handed it to Lakmeer. He removed the cloth and looked at it, it was beautifully oiled. He could see himself like he was looking in a mirror. He thanked her at which she beamed and went downstairs. Odin returned, he was wearing an old cloak that covered him whole, his face was hooded and Lakmeer could not say if he was wearing a sword or not. He handed Lakmeer a similar cloak and told him to wear it. Lakmeer did what was asked of him and followed Odin downstairs and then to the street.
They walked down the street into a smaller one. Lakmeer looked around himself and saw stone houses, people were shouting in them, some silent while some not. At places he heard women speaking, while other times he heard them quarreling. After a long walk they reached the end of the small street and entered the rushed up street where the market was. Like the last time, it was full of people. There were merchants chanting their prices while there were people bargaining. Lakmeer and Odin walked among the people. Nobody looked at them, everyone was busy at their own work. Lakmeer looked at a shopkeeper selling vegetables and at another selling spices. They walked down the street, towards the calmer side. They reached at the end of the street, this side had no people except for some who were walking towards the dense part to buy what they need.
Lakmeer walked behind Odin silently. They kept walking for quite a time, every street looked similar to the last one. Some dirtier than the others but they were all nearly the same. If Lakmeer had been alone here than he would have been lost for sure. At last they came at a place where the streets ended and a road started, which went towards a castle. The castle was higher than any he had ever seen, it seemed like a city with in a city. It had walls as high as the city walls and there were men who looked like ants from up there.
Odin looked at Lakmeer and said,” Do you still want to come?” Lakmeer knew that Odin had thought after seeing this he would stay but Lakmeer still wanted to save Lykos. He nodded and said,” I am ready to do it now if you ask me to.” Odin looked at the castle and said,” You are brave, and stupid.” Lakmeer did feel good at the praise but he did not understand,” Brave and stupid, how can anyone be brave and stupid at the same time?” Odin chuckled and said,” Bravery and stupidity are the two sides of the same coin.” Odin, before Lakmeer could say anything, said,” This castle is where the Governor lives, underneath the castle reside the dungeons. We will go there tonight and free Lykos, and if we are lucky they will not know about it until we are all at a safe distance.” Lakmeer nodded and said,” I hope they haven’t hurt Lykos.”
“That they have my dear boy, that they have.” Lakmeer did not want to believe it but he knew it was true. They walked back to the house after sometime, all that time Lakmeer thought about Lykos I hope they haven’t killed him. He was more worried now than ever, he did not want to see Lykos’ head on a spike when he reaches the dungeons.
