Lykos looked at Odin and said with an annoyed voice,” Are you going to kiss me now?” Odin smiled and said,” Certainly not, I was just looking at your new scar. The one who put it there must have been a good swords man.” Lykos’ mouth twitched,” More like a dancer.” Odin nodded and smiled at Lakmeer, he smiled back at him.
Outside the room, the wind was howling like a wild wolf. Lykos had insisted upon leaving on the very same day, but Odin would not have it. He had urged them to stay as the city watch would be looking for them all around the city. Lykos had not accepted it quite happily but he had accepted it anyways when Odin and Lakmeer both insisted it. When the city watch had realized that Lykos had escaped, they had rung the bells whole night, waking up the whole city. Archers stood vigil on the ramparts and soldiers patrolled the streets, luckily none came inside the houses.
The morning was not much different except that they had stopped ringing the bells. The soldiers still marched the streets, allowing no one outside. The market was closed as Ares had seen it, but later Odin had forbidden Ares to leave the house as well.
They were going to leave at mid-night, first they would take their horses back from the Inn and then they would leave from a secret way that Odin knew, which Lykos also knew. The room became brighter as the sun fell on the curtain, they would have removed the curtains if there was no wind. The other children were all downstairs for the night. Ares sat beside Lakmeer and examined his sword, Ares had wanted to have a good look at it before Lakmeer and Lykos left. Lakmeer looked at his sword as Ares tilted it from one side to the other and wondered what would happen after they left. The night will be very cold but still Lykos said the city is near and they would reach there in the morning and stay at an Inn to make themselves warm, now that Lykos was safe and he could go and see if his father was there he was nervous about it. He had nearly forgotten about his father and all he thought about was saving Lykos but now that he was going it scared him, why he did not know but it just did.
Odin and Lykos talked about ways to bring back the horses. Odin had gone to see if the horses were there but he had not taken the risk to bring them back, as Odin could hide himself but not the horses. They were going to take the horses in the night and take them to the hidden passage and then leave from that hidden passage. Odin had even brought some warm clothes for the way to Gordor and Lakmeer was very thankful for it, he did not want to die so close to where he wanted to go and that of cold. Of all the ways Lakmeer would want to die, cold would be the last.
All of the people in room were not very good at talking, so the room was silent as a haunted house. Ares examined the sword, Lakmeer looked as Ares did it while Odin and Lykos did nothing at looked at the fire like reading a book. Helen brought in some hot soup for them and they started sipping it. The hot soup was a welcome sight after sitting all this time in silence.
